Thanksgiving

I finally figured out a way to avoid over eating on Thanksgiving . . .

Move to London, where the fourth Thursday in November is just another workday.

Sigh . . .

But there are restaurants in London celebrating it if you wanna eat out (no fun compared to sharing with friends at home, I know but...). Try Bodean's in Soho for a set Thanksgiving menu, also Christopher's in Wellington Street WC2 or The Dorchester on Park Lane.

Or get Time Out in London: they list lots of places with Thanksgiving dinners, or if you want to celebrate the Superbowl or the "World Series" (US baseball + Japan and Cuba, those well-known sporting giants) or the US Presidential Election.

Far better to skip Thanksgiving anyway: it's over-rated, and you need to keep your waist for the blowout that is the British Christmas, and lasts at least a week, from 24 December to 2/3 Janunary minimum. Compare with the pretend holidays endured by Americans: two weeks a year, no Boxing Day, hardly any public holidays. Imagine: many people in the US go back to work on 26 December!

I think it's better that way, then you don't have to have all of those holiday pounds ;)
